Check out what they had to say about their music, their style and what they look for in a girl. Their new single "I Don't Wanna Grow Up," is available on iTunes and in store this summer!

TWIST: Hey Sole Fresh! How did you guys get into singing?
KNOXX: We first got into singing in 8th grade, we were both in the choir, we got to talking and were both like, we really don't like this music that we are singing and we started talking about the music that we did like, and we both liked hip-hop, so we got to talking and our first performance was actually when we taught the choir "Today was a Good Day" by Ice Cube, and we put church lyrics to it. So that was how we met.
NARDO: I just think it's funny that we met in choir cause we don't really come off as like your choir group.

TWIST: Wow would you describe your music?
KNOXX: Our music is just fun. You can't take it too seriously because we are not serious people but it's just fun and energetic.
NARDO: It's the whole concept of us not wanting to grow up and New Orleans culture and everything. Fun living, it all reflects through our music. Its easy-going and a good time.

TWIST: How did you come up with the name Sole Fresh?
NARDO: Well, growing up we had an infatuation with sneakers, some people confuse the name, its not S-O-U-L but its really S-O-L-E like a sneaker sole. So that's the base of Sole Fresh and we actually had the name before we met our producer Mannie Fresh, so it's kind of funny that the two "fresh's" came together.

TWIST: Do you guys have girlfriends?
SOLE FRESH: No, no time for that.

TWIST: What do you look for in a girl?
KNOXX: I look for a girl who has a similar mindset as me-- easy-going, free-spirited, likes to have fun and is attractive.
NARDO: I love a fashionable girl. I want a girl that doesn't want to just go out and party all the time. One who also has interests, like maybe a girl you could do something meaningful with. Not all dates need to be a party. You can go to the museum or walk around the park.

TWIST: Do you guys have any dating advice for our readers?
NARDO: Well, I feel like everybody is always so nervous, and the nervousness is what always leads to those embarrassing moments, if they just relaxed and were themselves, like when you are meeting someone they got to know who you actually are. Don't try to put on a front, just be yourself and don't be nervous.
KNOXX: That's in all aspects of life--be yourself, that's something that we really stand for. Our music, it really is who we are, so just be you.

TWIST: Any embarrassing moments?
KNOXX: Well our very first show, we were performing our single "I Don't Want to Grow Up" and my verse comes on and I started rapping the wrong verse. I totally forgot. So Nardo goes, 'Hey everyone Knoxx is going to freestyle now," and I was like 'For real?'
NARDO: Let me just explain something. We had this plan like if you mess up; you are going to have to freestyle after. And so I mean I thought that it was obvious that he messed up, it was so obvious to me.
KNOXX: I mean it turned out fine, no one really noticed, so it was fun!
