Hey TWIST Lovers!
We recently got a visit from Aaron Fresh, singer of the hit song "Spending All My Time". We must say -- we loved spending OUR time with him! He's super-cute and sweet, and had so much to tell us about his music career, life in the Caribbean and his little celebrity crush (it someone you wouldn't expect!).
Check it all out by clicking Read More and be sure to check out his upcoming debut album Fresh-n-Up, coming out this summer.
So girlies, what do you think of Aaron Fresh? Do you love his song? Do you think he is cute? Spill it in the comments!
Blue Skies,
Jen
TWIST: Hey Aaron! Tell us how you got started as a singer?
Aaron Fresh: From the age of about eight, I knew that I wanted to start singing because I always had musical influences around me from Al Green to Michael Jackson. My mom would play the CDs all the time. Just getting that feedback from everyone around me, like my brother -- he would be listening to Genuine while we cleaned up the house.
TWIST: What was it like hearing your song "Spending All My Time" on the radio for the first time?
Aaron: It was (sings) insane in the membrane, insane, got no brain. I remember I had gone to a meeting and my mom was at the hotel and she had on the radio and I invited some friends over and we were just chilling. All of the sudden we hear (starts beat boxing the beat of the beginning of "Spending All My Time"), and I was like "Oh snap! That's my song!" And we recorded it. My reactions were crazy when I watched the play back. I was like "Whoa, that's me?!" It was just an amazing feeling.
TWIST: If you could perform with any artist, who would it be and why?
Aaron: I would love to perform with Stevie Wonder. He is a great musician. He is one of my influences. I've seen him live in concert before so I know what he can do. Just to do one song with him would be really great. He can play the piano while I sing his song, he can play the piano while I sing my song, or we could sing songs together. Something! And it would just be a great blessing because he is one of my hugest influences.
TWIST: What was it like living in Trinidad and Tobago, an island in the Caribbean?
Aaron: It was just a great experience because the people are so amazing and so respectful. Everyone tells you good morning in the morning, good evening, good night. It's just a really great place to be because of the energy you get from everybody. Whether it's going to the mall together or just going to the corner store and getting something to drink with some friends. You go to the corner store and you just sit down right in front, sit on the blacktop, and just be like "Oh, lets talk about something". It's just a great feeling. You get that energy from everybody and the love. And plus the food, too. The food is amazing! Amazing! It's made with love.
TWIST: Do you have any embarrassing moments you want to tell us about?
Aaron: I remember when I got pants-ed in front of the school. It was in the hallway where everyone waits for their parents to come get their kids. I remember I had played a prank on one of my friends earlier and he was trying to get me back. And it was just like down goes the weasel. It was bad. It was embarrassing, but it's all good.
TWIST: Do you have any celebrity crushes?
Aaron: Oprah. I think just because she is so inspirational. She gives really great advice and she's just really out there with everything. She helps people. I mean she created a school in Africa! Who does that?! She's a great person and I wouldn't mind taking her out. (Laughs)
Thanks, Aaron!
