Hey Girls!
Last week I got a chance to talk to the winner of Southpole's national model search, 15 year old Jazzyln Liggins. An aspiring singer, dancer, actress and model, Jazzyln's already on her way to becoming a household name! She's in a new movie called The Fred Movie, and has guest starred on Wizards of Waverly Place. TWIST: How did you hear about Southpole's national model search?
Jazzyln: Well, one of my friends on Facebook asked me to vote for her for the model search, so I did. But then I thought it looked like something I could do, so I signed myself up.
TWIST: What's your style like?
Jazzyln: It's comfortable, but cute. I don't think you have to be in heels all the time. Right now, I like the ripped kind of look with distressed jeans and a fancier shirt.
TWIST: What's something every girl should have in her closet?
Jazzyln: Probably a belt, because if you have just a regular outfit and then add a belt, it makes everything go together.
TWIST: Did you ever wear things to school that other people were afraid to wear?
Jazzyln: Yeah. I'm home schooled now, but before I would wear stuff and people would go "Oh, I never though of wearing that" or "Oh, I'm scared to wear that," so actually I would wear stuff that other people never wore and then they would start wearing it so it felt really cool.
TWIST: Like what?
Jazzlyn: I wore skinny jeans before they were "in." People were like, "Those look really weird," but now everyone wears them.
TWIST: What is it that you love about Southpole?
Jazzyln: The clothes fit really well and the price is reasonable. You don't have to be famous to buy it.
TWIST: What's some advice for our readers who want to get into modeling and acting, like you?
Jazzyln: I would say to get your pictures taken and start sending them to agencies. You can look up some really good ones online and send them your pictures. If they like how you look, they will ask you to come in and interview you. Or if you want to be an actress, take some acting classes. That's how I started!
