American Idol is BACK! Tonight kicks off the first night of auditions, and it looks like our first stop is Boston. Tomorrow's episode takes us to Atlanta.
Season 9 will also be the first season where the audition round features celebrity guest judges. Tonight's singer of choice? Former Spice Girl and major fashionista Victoria Beckham!
In related news, Simon Cowell has also announced this will be his last season judging American Idol. He's planning to start a new talent show called The X Factor in the US. There is already a version of the show in the U.K., which brought us the talent of Leona Lewis!

Ya first commen. Omg, Me and my family all ways wach American Idol. Can't wait for it to come on to night. I hope that it isn't the last season, But it not going to be the same with out Sinom Cowell. My grandpa like that Sinom says what he think of the preformec.

Wells I hope they dont end it but they probably will have to end the show cause less people will be watching the show cause simon is gone.

if they are getting rid of simon they should prob just end the show.im very mad that one by one the judges are disapearing.paula,simon...the show just wont be the same!the way they judged carried the show.if you dont have all three point of views then its no good.i love the show and was hoping one day i could be on the show...but obviously that is not gonna happen:(bye american idol.......
It could be b/c I mean w/ Paula gone Simon won't have anyone to argue w/ that we know will happen. W/ Simon gone it will be boring but this year I think it'll be funny b/c of Ellen!=)

it might it really depends how many viewers they will have this season. now that paula is gone they r going to lose a lot of viewers (maybe). and then once simon leaves, i think they will lose a lot of viewers so i think they will have at least 2 seasons to go unless they get new awesome judges which they havent yet so dont count on it.
its SOO not the same without simon me and my friends used to make impressions in his accent like "now listen dearie..... I HATE IT" HAHAHA Simon was sooo funny!

I do not watch AI but i was actually thinking about it but now that Paula left and Simon is leaving im considering not to bcuz it sounds lame now.
OMG! Simon is the best part of the show! I love his comments! They're funny! Well, the show will suck without him so why watch it? Paula's gone too so just Randy, Kara, and some other people? Not on my watch. Oh well =(
I used to love this show. Never missed a season. Now that Paula's gone and that this is Simon's last season...it's not worth watching. i'm not even going to watch this season. I don't care for Ellen De Generouse or whatever her name is. She is going to be taking Simon's place next season. Without Randy, Paula and Simon all together, it's going to fall apart. The only thing that is good about this show is that nobodies can become somebodies off of it. It just isn't the same without all o the THREE original judges.
i hope not...i plan on auditioning when im 16, so i have 2 more years to go

Well. I love this show, really I do. But I watched tonights episode and the whole time if felt like something (or someone) was missing. I knew Paula left, but I didn't think I'd notice, but it's really not the same, a_t a_l_l!!!!! If Simon leaves, it wont be the same in any way shape or form. the show wont be able to carry itself. I watched a show that asked What percent of our voting viewers will watch American Idol when simon leaves? The answer was 14%. Thats HARSH! I always dreamed of trying out when I'm 16. So I hope they dont cancel it! But they might have to, :'( Well this has been my thought on this case. Thank you for reading!

perfecthairp, ellen is gonna be a judge another day i dont know if there is a different judge every episode? but she will of course be in one of the episodes i think that american idol will go on without simon but the show is a huge sucess with simon around. so i dont know.... if american idol will go on with former judge simon cowell or american idol done with only canadian idol as a idol show cause im canadian... so what will there be done or going on? GO TWIST MAGAZINE YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!
