Twist hangs with new singer Jesse Lee!

Hey Girls!

If you're a big Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood fan, check out new country-pop singer Jesse Lee! Jesse hung out with TWIST and talked about her music, how she met her BF and what she'll never understand about guys. Check out the music video for her new single, It's a Girl Thing. "It's about celebrating being a girl," Jesse told TWIST.

Twist: Tell me about your album.
Jesse Lee: It's a lot about love, a little bit about life. There's a song on there about friendship, growing up and parting ways from some of your best friends you might not see in a few years after high school. I was going through a lot of breakups - all with the same person - during the year I was recording this record. So I wrote a lot about that!

T: When do you picture people putting on your CD?
JL: If you are sad, you can put on "Cry Baby." When you break up with a guy who is really great, but not the one for you, you can put on "Everybody Loves You But Me." But the album is for every mood. I worked on this album for about a year and experienced a ton of different things.

T: Every mood.
JL: Exactly. Every mood. Being in love. Being not in love.

T: I like your single, "It's A Girl Thing," which is about the differences between guys and girls. What is something about guys you don't think you'll ever understand?
JL: The "three-day-rule" that some guys do.

T: Where they wait three days after a date to call you?
JL: Yeah. Like, what is that? I guess it's the whole game playing. I think the sensitive guys are the easiest to understand because they are similar to us. There's a lot about guys I'll never understand!

T: What type of guy do you usually go for?
JL: I always go for the sensitive guy. Always the romantic, sensitive and funny guy. You have to be funny and sensitive. I don't go for jerk guys. I've never been into that. I go for the good guys who are always the "best friend."

T: Where do you meet such great guys?
JL: I don't meet them by going out. I usually meet them through friends or school. I met my boyfriend through laser tag. A mutual friend invited a group of six of us out to play. He shot be a bunch of times and it was love!

T: It's like a modern-day Cupid's Arrow!
JL: It is!

T: What do you think guys will never understand about girls?
JL: They will never understand how much we need to talk about stuff or how sensitive girls are. Or if they do, then they don't know how to deal with it.

T: So tell me about some of the people you worked with on your CD.
JL: I worked with Mark Bright, who worked with Carrie Underwood, Billy Ray Crus and the Rascal Flatts. I also worked with Nathan Chapman, who is responsible for Taylor Swift and is now producing Sara Evans. And I also worked with Paul Worley, who worked with the Dixie Chicks and Martina McBride.

Jesse Lee's CD "It's A Girl Thing" comes out in September!
