OMG! One TWIST reader tries to impress a pair of fine foreigners!

We had two foreign exchange students from France, Xavier and Jean-Francois, in our class for three weeks. They were both way cute and had the most adorable accents! Unfortunately, I was totally flunking French, and they hardly spoke any English. I decided to try really hard to improve my French so that I could talk to them. After three weeks, and hours and hours of memorizing my French textbook, I was finally ready to talk to these international cuties! I went up to them and asked if they wanted to get ice cream with me and my friends after school. They both gave me a weird look and started laughing hysterically. It turns out, I didn't do such a great job catching up on my French. I later found out that what I actually said was, "do you like to eat sour cream with me and my friends behind the school?" I was so embarrassed! From now on I'm sticking to American boys! -Stephanie, 14
