TWIST: Your book is about an ordinary girl who starts her own celebrity blog and enters the celeb world. How did you decide on this concept?
Sabrina: I thought it was so interesting! I know nowadays, so many people look for celebrities. Everything with celebrities is so accessible to people! Just having the idea of a young girl who comes from the Midwest and gets thrown into Hollywood, thinking it's going to be this glamorous lifestyle, and then, her dream comes true. Her blog gets picked up! I feel like that's how it felt with me. I'm this young girl from Orange County. I'm part of this amazing group, The Cheetah Girls, and things just started happening! I was going to premieres and getting these amazing gift bags! Just all that kind of stuff. It's that fantasy world, things that happen to celebrities all the time!
TWIST: What were some of your early experiences with entering the world of celebrity? Were there any scenes in the book that were inspired by your own experience?
Sabrina: Not word for word, but yeah, the ideas of getting these incredible gifts! The gift bag is one of the most amazing things! And having all the latest, up-to-date technology! I also think being in school, being a teenager and seeing the hot girl at school and how she's running the show - you just watch her like, "Wow, she runs this whole school!" Just small things like that. It's what happens to a lot of people!
TWIST: What do you think of gossip blogs?
Sabrina: I think they could be really amazing and I'm fortunate enough the have a fan group called "Team Sabrina!" They have blogs for me. It's awesome! And I think they are so amazing! They are the ones that get any of the footage that I ever do, like on TV or any of the articles in TWIST. Anything! They're the first ones to have it out on the internet. Sourcing it to others, so more fans can see it if they didn't catch it. I think blogging sites like that can be amazing! There's definitely a downfall and a turning point that can happen with it as well. A lot of it can turn very negative and start highlighting all the bad things. That's when you start to not love the blogging site.
TWIST: Which ones do you check and how often do you check them?
Sabrina: I went through a phase of having an addiction to Perez Hilton and TMZ. You check them out sometimes, but I try to stay away from the ones that are on the negative side.
TWIST: What were some of your favorite books growing up?
Sabrina: My favorite book was Matilda! I love, love, loved that book! That's the one that sticks out the most in my mind because she has these super powers! As a young girl, just being able to move objects, and have everything just the way you want it - I really, really thought that was cool!
