These funky Austrailian twin sisters were the opening act for the Jonas Brothers on tour this summer! They gave TWIST the scoop on their new album, touring with JB , which brother they're crushing on and more!
TWIST: You girls have already had quite a bit of success in the U.S. Are you happy to be back and touring?
V:Yeah, definitely! It's been almost two years since we released our last record here.
TWIST: Is there anything in particular you like about being in the U.S.?
V: I like that it's summer right now! We're missing winter in Austrailia. We love touring here. We got the tour bus and everything, so it's a bit more rock 'n' roll--we like that! Plus, we like shopping!
TWIST: How has the crowd reacted to you?
V: It's been amazing! A lot of kids knew who we were, and if they didn't know, we'll end the set with "Forever" and you see the majority of the crowd go, "Oh yeah, we know this song!" It's great just to get back into the faces of our fans. And really, we're just stoked if one kid knows us!
TWIST: What's your relationship with the Jonas Brothers like?
V: Gosh, the Jonas Brothers! They're sweethearts. We met them three years ago, and funnily enough they opened for us here in America. It was a good experience, and we're so proud of the boys' success. They're very talented and very humble.
TWIST: Did you give them some advice about the business back in the day?
V: Not really. They could probably give us some advice now!
TWIST: Does it feel weird that you're coming back and opening for them?
V: No, we're just so proud of them and we're happy they wanted to share their massive success with us. We couldn't be more stoked to be on the tour!
TWIST: You have a new album. What's your favorite song?
V: The main one would have to be "Untouched."
TWIST: Can you tell us a little about your style?
V: We like to try a lot of different things. We have a little bit of a quirkier, theatrical edge. When we were young, we liked to dress up and play with makeup, so we like to experiment as we get older. We like lots of glitter, ripped jeans, rock 'n' roll T-shirts.
TWIST: Have you worn any outfits you really didn't like?
V: Everyone does! Some people will be so safe with a plain black dress, but we're not like that. We like to take risks and be creative with our fashion. It's about expressing who you are in that moment.
TWIST: Do you ever have any silly fights?
V: We spend so much time with each other, we pretty much never get a break unless we're in the shower! We fight over stupid things like, "Oh, she stole my shirt!" or "She took my eyeliner and hasn't given it back!"
TWIST: Are you really supportive of each other?
V: Yes, we support each other in every single way. We're very lucky to have each other.
TWIST: What are your plans after touring with the Jonas Brothers?
V: We're going to L.A. to do a few promotional things, and then we're going on tour with Hanson! We're going from one set of brothers to the next, but we don't mind!
TWIST: Who are your celebrity crushes?
V: Johnny Depp! And of course the Jonas Brothers!
TWIST: What do you like about each of the guys?
V: Nick is very calm, cool and collected. He's kind of suave in his own way. Joe is the joker--he's a bit of a daredevil! And Kevin is funny and charming. We love Kevin! He did this cool thing on stage with his guitar--we were in love! He did the craziest spins on stage--it was the coolest thing ever!
TWIST: Do you have a favorite song you're performing on this tour?
V: "Untouched" and "Forever." All the kids know it and get excited.
TWIST: Do you have any love songs on the album that came from real-life experiences?
V: Pretty much every song is from a personal experience. There are some love gone wrong songs!
